Courtny Hopen is a Registered Nurse who learned how to teach children about dogs through Gainesville Canine Academy, where she worked with trainer Sorcha Allen to train her dog Oliver to become a therapy dog.
This colorful, hand illustrated board book features a diverse array of children, dogs, and families drawn from Courtny's life. All illustrations were hand painted by Courtny.
The text consists of simple, rhyming advice drawn from therapy dog training from Gainesville Canine Academy, a dog training company that helped Courtny prepare her dog Oliver for the arrival of Courtny's young daughter and train as a therapy dog to volunteer with Courtny in the hospital. Oliver is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and is featured on the cover of the book.
The book is printed in the United States with entirely US-produced paperboard, ink, coating, and glues to provide the highest level of safety for little ones.
